My Story

I am an amateur gardener who loves to garden. On Memorial Day weekend 2026 I went to my mother-in-law's home. I noticed her flower beds were full of weeds. She has always had one of the most beautiful home gardens I have ever seen. In fact she is the person who got me into gardening and gave me starts of many of my first flowers. As she’s aged she has not been able to keep up with the garden beds as she used to. I noticed her rose bed, which had always been the most pristine part of her garden, was completely covered in weeds. So, I decided the next morning I would sneak over to her house like a magical fairy on a secret mission in the early morning and clean up her rose garden. Then sneak away before she was up and about. I thought this will be great, in a day or 2 she will notice it has been done and won't know what happened, like a magical gift from the garden fairies.  I got up before sunrise the next morning and went straight over.  I hid the car around the side behind some shrubs and got to work. By 9am the rose bed was weeded, mulched, edged and the debris was bagged and loaded into my car. I was cold, wet, covered with mud and completely satisfied. I decided to head home. When I got home my husband asked what I had been up to and where I had been, I told him it was a top secret fairy garden mission and if I told him he had to keep it a secret. He said ok, so I told him what I had done, big mistake. Within 2 hours my mother-in-law called. He tried to tell her he did not know anything, but she said she could always tell when her little boy was lying and he leaked the whole story. The jig was up.  She was happy and I was happy.  The next day I was joking with my family about how cool it would be to quit my job and be able to do this for other people. I laughed and said we could call it Elise’s Garden Fairies. A few days later the company was born.
